Red Shifting Wave Lab
fast-
slow-
short- red; long- blue
As you move closer, the wavelenghts become closer together and shorter. But, as you move away, the wavelengths become longer and farther apart.
1) The water in front of the moving finger get shorter.
2) The water behind the moving finger get longer.
3) The water behaves this way because the frequency gets higher as the area gets shorter, and longer as it moves away.
4) The light, like water, will get shorter and closer waves as it gets closer, and waves that are farther away, when the light moves away.
