2) What do the numbers on a topographic map represent?
The numbers on a topographic map represent elevation from line to line.
3) Give one possible benefit of using a topographic map instead of a normal one?
One possible benefit of using a topographic map is that the lines show where the direction is and the elevation. The lines also curve in for rivers and other land forms, which you might not be able to point out where on the mountain it is with a map.
Part 2: Topographic Meaning?
1) What are the three types of lines used on a topographic map?
The three lines shown on a topographic map are contour, township, and range lines.
2) Describe stream erosion.
Stream erosion is when water, usually a stream, flows down a mountain and slowly erodes the part the water is flowing down, and can usually be seen on a map if the stream is large enough.
3) Describe the different types of glacial erosion.
Glacial erosion comes in two different types, ice sheets and mountain glaciers. With ice sheets, thick sheets of ice erode areas of the mountain, leaving scratches and grooves. While with mountain glaciers, usually stay close to valleys and enlarge their size in the mountain.
